In this update, you can read about the activities carried out in 2024 and the impact the project has had so far on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Throughout 2024, the Uganda biogas project focused on knowledge sharing, community engagement, and providing long-term support to rural households. Together with\u00a0<strong>Biogas Solutions Uganda Limited (BSUL)<\/strong>, we continued to improve access to biogas while promoting sustainable agriculture. These community members help raise awareness about clean cooking and the benefits of biogas within their own villages. By sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm, they encourage more households to switch to clean and sustainable energy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:31px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Training for sustainable use<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To ensure that biogas systems continue to operate efficiently, BSUL organised\u00a0<strong>2,045 user training sessions<\/strong>\u00a0in 2024. During these sessions, participants learned how to safely operate and maintain their biodigesters. They also received practical training on using\u00a0<strong>bio-slurry<\/strong>\u00a0as an organic fertiliser, enabling them to benefit not only from clean energy but also from healthier soils and increased agricultural yields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:31px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-7387b849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:50%\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Investing in long-term impact<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2024, the revenue generated from carbon credits was reinvested into the project. This funding enabled BSUL to keep biogas systems affordable for rural households while continuing to invest in quality control, user training, and after-sales services.
