Cycling to work for four days? These researchers from UMCG do it

Four cardiology researchers from the UMCG are cycling to their conference on heart failure in Prague.

Nils Bömer, Joost Beusekamp, ​​Bart van Essen and Suzanne Voorrips will embark on the journey. They want to take action and make their colleagues aware of their impact. There are plenty of alternatives within Europe to get to your destination. They even take the bike for the conference in the Czech Republic on May 20. They want to compensate for the emissions of their colleagues who choose to travel by plane.

This requires 30,000 euros, which will be donated to our biogas project in India. This project prevents polluting exhaust fumes by adopting biogas practices in place of open-fire cooking.

The four cardiology researchers hope that their cycling trip to Prague will not only compensate, but also create awareness among colleagues about their footprint and inspire them to choose more environmentally friendly alternatives.
