SDG 13: climate action

In 2015, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were established by the United Nations as a new global sustainable development agenda for 2030. Our projects contribute to a number of these SDGs, such as SDG 13: Climate Action.

Every country on every continent is dealing with climate change. Global warming is already affecting the daily lives and incomes of millions of people worldwide and this will only increase in the future.

In December, a climate agreement was concluded in Paris in which countries agreed to keep global warming below two degrees. This requires a significant reduction in greenhouse gases and the replacement of fossil energy sources with sustainable energy. Furthermore, it is important that developing countries in particular can take measures to protect themselves against the consequences of climate change.

With its climate projects, FairClimateFund strives for a fair climate: a world in which those who contribute most to climate change invest in CO2 reduction projects that benefit people most vulnerable to the consequences of climate change.

Our goal, together with our partners, is to reduce one million tons of CO2 by investing in projects aimed at providing efficient cooking solutions for half a million people and planting half a million trees by 2025.
