The first family car on solar energy

Driving on solar energy has a bright future. Solar Team Eindhoven, a team of 23 students from the Eindhoven University of Technology, proves this. These students stopped their studies for a year and a half to build the car of the future. The result is the Stella Lux, the world's first solar-powered family car.

Solar cars are the future
According to the team, current cars have a negative impact on the climate. The team has used the knowledge, motivation and free spirit to contribute to a better and more sustainable future. They have devised a car, the Stella-Lux, that runs entirely on solar energy. The energy-positive Stella Lux is not only a solution for the carbon emissions of gasoline, diesel and LPG cars. It also offers a solution for emissions from power plants and the current infrastructure. The more people who run on solar energy, the less use is made of power plants.

Own responsibility
Because the team emits carbon during the production of the cars and when charging the cars and flying to international competitions, the team compensates for this carbon emission at FairClimateFund by investing in climate projects.
