Buy fair carbon credits

Buy carbon credits to help your organization achieve its sustainability goals. Here’s how it works:

1. Start by calculating your emissions.
2. Reduce your CO₂ emissions where possible.
3. Determine your carbon credit budget. There are several ways to do this:

  • Put a price on every ton of CO₂ you still emit, and invest that amount in reduction measures and carbon credits.
  • or buy carbon credits for every ton of CO₂ you emit.
  • or invest a portion of your profit in carbon credits.

Choose high-quality carbon credits with a proven social impact. FairClimateFund is guided by one principle: fair distribution of the credit proceeds, with as much of the proceeds going to households as possible.

About FairClimateFund

Together with our partners we develop cleaner cooking projects. These projects reduce CO₂ emissions, protect trees and improve living conditions in places vulnerable to climate change.

Our Gold Standard & Fairtrade Climate Standard certified carbon credits are unique: a fair price is paid to households (mainly women) that are responsible for the achieved CO₂ reduction. Our goal: more than 70% of the revenue goes directly to projects and households.

People who have contributed the least to climate change but are most affected by it benefit the most from this.

fcf - bcorp certification

Local communities benefit most from Fairtrade Carbon Credits. Households are organized as members of a Fairtrade Carbon-certified cooperative. This cooperative sells the credits on behalf of its members at a fair price to a Fairtrade-certified carbon credit trader.

Self-reliance

Local cooperatives are trained to manage and implement climate projects independently. They provide training and are responsible for monitoring and maintenance, for example.
